NDT - Impact Echo
PCTS offer Impact Echo Thickness Certification, an acoustic non-destructive test method used to assess the dimensions and integrity of concrete and masonry.
Introduction
PCTS use Olson Instruments NDE360. A CTS technician strikes the surface of a structural element with a tuned hammer (a steel ball of specific size) to produce a pressure wave (P-wave) pulse in the material of up to 90kHz that propagates into the structure and is reflected by internal discontinuities or external surfaces.
Applications
PCTS Technicians are available to:
Measure Slab Thickness
Locate position, extent and depth of:
␣ Cracks ␣ Voids ␣ Delamination's ␣ Honeycombed Concrete ␣ Ungrouted Metal Tendon Ducts
Strength via acoustic velocity
